What happened?
In 2015, Volkswagen admitted to installing illegal devices in millions of diesel cars worldwide, including thousands in Austria.
These devices manipulated emissions tests, making VW diesel cars appear cleaner than they actually were.
As a result, your car may have lost value, used more fuel than advertised, and emitted higher pollution levels than legally allowed.
Is this real?
Yes, this is real. In Austria, VW has already settled over 10,000 cases, and in the UK, VW paid £193 million to affected drivers.
If you owned or leased a Volkswagen diesel car with a EA193 engine, there is a strong possibility you could be eligible for compensation of over €2,000 per vehicle.
